Shortly after Microsoft released Office 97, they
introduced the Certified Microsoft Office User Program, a set of standards
that allowed people to earn certificates attesting to their proficiency in
using the different applications in the suite. Candidates take an exam
given in the application and, if successful, receive a certificate from
Microsoft. In the fall of 1997, Microsoft changed the name of the program
to "Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)." If you're
