Keys for Use in the Information Viewer

The Information Viewer is the right side of your Outlook screen, the part not occupied by the Outlook Bar or Folder List. Use the shortcuts in these tables whenever you are in the Information Viewer.

Create a new item (creates the appropriate item for the current folder)

CTRL-N

Display ScreenTip for the active item

SHIFT-F1

Display the Address Book

CTRL-SHIFT-B

Dial

Move around the Information Viewer

The items in the Information Viewer are presented in either a table, calendar, card, timeline, or icon format. Use the shortcuts in this table to move around the Information Viewer. Go to our tables of Keys for Working with Table, Calendar, Card, Timeline, and Icon Views for shortcuts specific to each of these types of view.

Switch between the Folder List and the Information Viewer to the right

F6 or CTRL-TAB

Move in and out of Preview Pane

Cycle through Folder List, Information Viewer, and Preview Pane (clockwise)

Expand/collapse a group (with a group selected)

PLUS or MINUS SIGN on the numeric keypad
