Working with Text
When you click the Text Shadow button on the Formatting toolbar to apply a shadow to text, PowerPoint formats the shadow as follows:
If the slide background (or text box fill color, if any) is white, text of any color gets a gray shadow.
Take control over the way PowerPoint formats text shadows. Donít use the Text Shadow button on the Formatting toolbar; use the Shadow button on the Drawing toolbar instead. That way, you can choose whatever color for your shadows you like. Not only that, but you can also use the Shadow Settings to adjust the depth and direction of the shadow.
To apply a shadow to text in a Text Box using this method, first set the fill color of the Text Box to No Fill. Otherwise, PowerPoint applies your shadow settings to the Text Box itself, rather than to the text in it. (Posted 01/01/2001)
